My friend is trying to connect remotely to my PC to help me with computer queries without having to drive 5 miles to my house. He has installed VNC server on my computer and when I'm on the Internet if I give him the ip number that is diisplayed when you run the cursor over the vnc icon in the system(?) tray he can type that in to his computer and connect to my computer. Except it doesn't work..
He has configured the livebox firewall to allow vnc and switched of Windows firewall but still no look. We can't figure out what to try next. Any ideas?

Hello looby
Why do you not just use Windows Live Messenger.
It is much easier!!!
So long as you both have Windows Live Messenger installed, you can ask for "Remote Assistance". On accepting, your friend can connect to your computer. The friend then needs to request to "take control" of your comupter... You will then have to accept (or decline, but I'm guessing you will not want to decline!!!)
BEWARE: You should only use this service if you know and trust the person who you are letting connect to your computer...
