I have tried to migrate my connection from Orange to Sky. After having trouble getting my MAC I finally received it. Sky have now told me they can not accept this because of LLU.
Looking on the BT tracker site there is a cease order placed for completion on the 15th. BT have informed me this is Orange.
Why would Orange put a cease on my line (all I asked for was a MAC code and not a cancellation)? After all the hassle I have had I am feeling like just staying with Orange, can I call Orange and ask them to remove the cease order? Or is it worth waiting for the cease and then signing up with Sky?
It seems Orange have gone ahead and put in a cease order with BT to remove the LLU markers from your line and then cancel your account which if that's the case, will mean after the 15th you should be able to sign up to Sky from scratch thus having no need for a MAC code.
You can try and contact BT Wholesale (08001690934) to see if they can cancel the cease order for you. I'd say you should wait to have your line ceased otherwise you'll end up being trapped with Orange forever!

Just checke the status of my cease order and it is now saying it is canceled! What is going on?

Just phoned BT wholesale and they are saying the cease is still going through! Confused!
elhana can correct me but if on llu then you are connected to oranges own equipment within the exchange so you would need to be ceased for the connection to be moved over to the next isp own equipment
Yeah, thats right, any change to another provider or service type would require the LLU service to be ceased.
But I was told by Orange I wasn't LLued and my MAC isn't a LLU MAC so why the problem. Also why would the BT tracker site say my cease order was cancelled but the BT on the phone say it was still going through???
Hard to know what's going on there as broadband ceases can come from both the ISP and BT. Orange would normally only cease the line if the account was closed, you were moving and taking the broadband with you or you were being migrated to LLU.
get this every checker known to man show me on nornal broadband but when the openreach engineer went to finally connect me ( see 25 steps to getting broadband) and we were talking over a cup of tea later he blew his top when i said about the dslam in the exchange I AM CONNECTED TO LLU he knows he has just had the peice of cable in his hands etc etc.
see if you went and plugged your phone into next doors house you are still using next doors line unless BT are told first
BT have now confirmed the cease order was cancelled by Orange on the 7th Feb. Spoke to Orange who agree saying that they tried to upgrade me to 8MB but it failed, and this is what the order relates too.
