My mum's connection was upgraded from a resold 1Mb package to the LLU'd 8Mb package on 23rd Jan, and she's not been able to connect since. After numerous, almost daily, lengthy calls to tech support, over the course of Three weeks we are still no nearer to finding out what the problem is.
To make matters worse during one convresation with the helpline she was advised that her existing Speedtouch modem "could not handle the extra speed" and they would transfer her to the Wireless and Talk package, which was £5 a month cheaper than her current package and she would get a free router, so far so good, but she decided she had had enough waiting around for them to diagnose the problem that she would cancel and find another provider only to be told that by agreeing to the switch of package she had placed herself back in contract and would be subject to a cancellation fee. At NO time when she was offered this new package was that mentioned.
The status of the fault has been "Possible Line Fault: awaiting update" since 31/1 and today she was told that it was being "escalated" and would take at least another 5 working days for the problem to be diagnosed.
She is on the WESTERN exchange in Glasgow (334, 337, 339, 357 numbers)
Are there any other folk having the same problem with this exchange?
