Just like to say that despite getting nowhere with Tiscali after over 30 e.mails/web site messages, and a letter to the Managing Director, I followed the link to the ISPA, and within two days I had a call from the ISPA's contact at Tiscali with an assumrance he would sort things out.
My account with them is now closed, hopefully the invoice for the two months they were trying to charge me for AFTER I left, will now be deleted.

After I left them, was disconnected on December 7th. and then joined Orange, Tiscali sent me an invoice for the whole of December and then the whole of January. They wouldn't reply at first, so I cancelled the direct debit, and then they started sending stupid replies, a threatening letter, and finally they said they would keep billing me until I proved that I was with another provider.
They seem to think broadband become compulsary.

YES I,M FREE got in touch with the ISPA and I got my migration codes 2 days later but the cheeky buggers sent me a threatining e.mail saying I was in arrers I,m looking forward to going to court lol
Where you still in contract? Did you cancel your D/D? Are they threatening with a CCJ?
I cancelled my alleged contract 4 weeks ago I cancelled my direct debit 2 weeks ago, they had as I see it 2 weeks without ME being on.line so infact if they decide to take the matter further which I hope they do they owe me, to be honest the way they messed me around and the lies and decite told to me it would be very interesting in court as OFCOM are on my side too, and as the guy from there said " were only a phone call away " I was given a reference number from them and I have an E.mail from I.S.P.A confirming my anger at the way Orange have treat me and others by the looks of things on here good luck matey
UPDATE - over Three months later I have received a £24 cheque from Tiscali as a refund. I didn't actually think they owed me anything (except an apology) but £24 will do
I received a letter from them stating that they had cancelled my broadband because I had not paid and unless I paid £50 they would instigate legal proceedings. I wrote back pointing out that I had in fact cancelled the account due to their crappy non provision of service and I looked forward to seeing them in court where I would provide evidence of all the extra expenditure they had cost me from having to cancel my account, having them clear my line and start again with another provider, not to mention the extra on my phone bill from having to have a temporary dial up account in order to access the internet. I received a letter apologising and telling me I now owed them nothing!!!
