Been looking at migrating to either UKFSN or Vivaciti for a few days now and me and my Dad are tired with Orange messing us about with the free broadband offer on our phone contract so he said i could move to a new ISP which is cheaper than Orange! with Orange at £22.99 a month i am not complaining about moving to a new ISP! now its just a mission of trying to get a MAC code from Orange, i am not expecting it to be easy as iv heard that a lot of people have had trouble before when trying to get a MAC code from Orange, so let us wait and see what happens! i have just been playing about with my college's connection, look at this impressive speed:
First of all, your colleges connection is totally differrent to a consumer broadband connection. The states in your sig (which I assume are you Orange broadband) are about right for an ADSL line. The upload speed on the college connection alone gives it away, you will not get an 8 meg upload speed with any consumer broadband at this time. period.
Also, if your still paying the £22.99 a month you can call Orange up regrade to the £17.99 a month unlimited pack, which gives you more for less.
Up to you what ISP you want, but im just pointing out you wont get anything like your colleges broadband stats from a consumer isp, so dont be disapointed if you go to another ADSL provider and its just the same as your Orange connection.
