Bleh ok this is getting really weird, past few days my sync speed and stuff seems to be getting better and better... these are my stats for today..

Which im sure you can see are quite good, so why am i still only getting 2.6 speeds max? I seem to be on LLU, so only thing i can think is Orange jsut arent bothering to upgrade their network so im not getting the speeds i should.
Also, are those stats good for being 1.61km from the exchange? (Straight line distance)
You do have a pretty short loop, identified by your attenuation values. Your DSL data rate is pretty good. Of course IP throughput may be vastly less than optimum for many reasons. Contention is likely, but other things like packet size make a difference.
What is worth checking is the amount of errors your DSL chipset is recording. Depending on the router/modem you have this may or may not be easy to find.
Things like ES, SES, are the kind of counters you are looking for. Most of these refer to errors.
Your line config means there is no interleaving, so you may be more prone to errors caused by impulse noise.
Thanks for that, im using the livebox so i dunno how to get the error stats, i could dig out my old router but i remember it didnt work too well anyway.
And those stats are using the extension socket upstairs, i've always got quite good speeds so that cant be the problem, ever seen i been put on llu i've had problems really.
Also my exchange is "in the red" but BT have unsuccessfully upgraded it for about 4-5 times now... make me wonder if theyre ever going to actually fix it
Wow thats weird your stats are very simalar to mine. Once again I can also never ever get above 2.7 meg. It must be Orange because people on other ISPs dont have these so called error problems capping them at a certain speed.
Note i have a lttle knowledge of CRC error ad did suspect them at first but now i think its some sort of capping on thier end.
