This is my first post, and Im sure the content wont be new to allot of you, but wanted to add my voice to things, and hopefully vent some bad feelings lol.
I started out with freeserve pay as you go, then anytime, then it became wanadoo. Finally I could get broadband, all beit only 512k but was a nice increase from dialup. Upgraded to 1meg, bliss. On World of Warcraft allot of the time, emailing/chatting the rest. Never had a single problem. I knew at 28 pound a month it was one of the pricier, but i felt it was the cost of reliability, so stayed put.
Then Orange took over / rebranded/ ruined. Since then Ive had outages, lost connections, crawling speeds. Reliability? whats that? Ive had to go through all the usual bother, new filters, new cables, new router, resetting things, reinstalling things. Nothing really worked, but Im told that nothing is wrong thier end etc. I called to get my MAC but I got a free speed upgrade to 2 meg, and a discounted price to stay with them, which I accepted (althought thankfully was told it wouldnt start a new contract). The problems still persist though. Im not a newcomer to pcs, i know my stuff although Id never call myself an expert. I have eliminated anything that could cause a problem my end, but I still get intermittant times where I cannot connect, or I lose connections, which never used to happen. Now I have periods of stability, followed by periods of the opposite.
If I have any more serious problems I will definately be asking for my MAC code.
Rant over I wish everyone all the best with getting thier problems sorted, and with changing to a better isp if they chose too

I had the same was offered the same and nuffin changed only i was getting nuffin from them cheaper lol i migrated away problem solved i now have a constant connection since august.
If your out of contract get a MAC and get a decent provider check the ISP ratings HERE
You will see Orange near the bottom.

Thanks for the reply. Yes Im seriously considering switching, Im just waiting for a time when I can sort it all out etc. I didnt expect my speed upgrade etc to fix my probs but it made me willing to see how things turned out for a bit longer. Im currently in a time when I can surf well and not be d/c all the time, so Im just waiting to see how things go. Im glad I found these forums though, and that Im not the only one who feels things got worse when Orange took over lol.
