Just a follow-up post in case anyone's interested (background : been with Freeserve, Wanadoo, Orange since 2001, speeds dropped to 100k bits per sec from 4 November, Orange didn't seemed too bothered etc).
Finally gave up and moved across to Be Unlimited.
I'm very pleased with the service so far ...
- they accepted Orange's LLU MAC.
- line transferred across in about a week.
- they found a problem with my line but had it fixed less than 24 hours later.
Now connects at 10 Mbps. Pleased as punch.
To top it all off, got an electronic invoice from Orange yesterday (why do they send out the emails telling you the invoice is there when it ain't - there seems to be a lag in posting invoices to their site) noting that they're charging me £17.99 from 4 Jan to 4 Feb - I LEFT THEM ON 20 DECEMBER.
Good luck to everyone still struggling with Orange.
Best wishes,
MB
ps if you sign up through quidco.com you'll also get £24 back!
