Great site. As a happy Orange mobile user I was really keen to take up either the new 2mb free, or 8mb £5 a month service.
I'm glad I found the forum first!
I think it would be really useful to compile a (non technical) FAQ for potential customers.
I'm no slouch when it comes to IT stuff (built my own pc's, am a guru / techie troubleshooter for loads of mates etc) but to save time it would be great to guage opinion / have some consolidated facts and responses based on the most frequent themes.
EG:
- I've heard the technical help is based in India and customer service has suffered badly as a result. True?
- Should I go for the 8mb service or just go for the 2mb as there is only bound to be probs / severly limited connection speed etc with 8mb.
-Are the livebox problems mainly due to user ignorance / lack of tehnical skill,? Or are they, generally speaking, just pants? (The Don has no need for wireless. I'd just wire it up).
- Should i DARE sign up for this service? I like Orange mobile but will be forced to make them an offer they can't refuse if they mess me about. So help me.
This might be an actually good idea, an Un-Official no-bullsh!t FAQ. However, alot of misgivings can only be confirmed as 'most-likely/assumptions' and should be stated as such. A lot of us have not been far from the truth though, if not- bang on.
In the least, we can elaborate on the ambiguity of certain aspects of the TOS e.g. Unlimited downloads being about 30-50 gigs...
