For the past Three days it has proved impossible to upload new pages to my 'mysite' webpages. Normally uploading zip files via Sitebuilder is easy and usually error-free, however the Wanadoo server now can't read them properly and if you try to load .htm files it says they are too big (3kB!). The site statistics page is not accessible and if you try the Wanadoo FTP server, it doesn't answer.
Wanadoo e-mail support don't answer either! The most worrying aspect of the current problem is that I was saved by Norton Antivirus from receiving a pair of trojans from the Wanadoo FTP server when I logged on to their server. Now they have shut down the server, which is a responsible thing to do if it has a major virus problem, but not a word of information or apology to their long-suffering customers.
Most reputable ISPs have service status reporting and a bulletin board, but Wanadoo seem to have done away with theirs! I suppose it required too much updating. Can anyone recommend a better ISP?
I've been with NTL for 2 years, and have had no problems at all. So I would recommend them. You might want to try BT, pricey but I have had frineds who've had a good service, after the nightmare of Wanadoo.
