Since I went past my 10 day trial after being upgraded to 8Meg in my members centre it is offering my to upgrade to 8Meg again.. but for the past 2 days the speed has rounded up to 6.5Meg... but I don't get why i still sync at 8128 everyday so what is going on??? thanks - Liam

Can depend on wiring, router, line length, drivers and many things really.Most cases it's down to line length to the exchange, i am guessing you are 1kmh from it? 6.5mb speed is good especially if you using speedtouch 330 modem.

Looks like their system is messed up yet again!

Hmm yes I can up(down)grade my speed for free!

I'm also rather annoyed that they are forcing people to start new contracts on any account upgrades now...

Me too. Can anyone remember the exact wording when the 6 months thing was first mentioned in the member centre on (I think) 19th Oct?

The exact wording, no. But it basically said starting November everyone on 2 meg and not on LLU (or on a speed limited package) will be upgraded to ADSL Max within 6 months. (Now 5 months)

Leaves anyone on 1 or 1/2 meg connections wondering, although they of course have a lot less to gain by the upgrade and potentially more problems.

indeed I connect at the max speed for adsl max (I live within 1km of the exchange)

despite that my actual top speed for data transfer has never gone over 4meg, infact it's usually about 3meg
