OK, So I've gone through help, emailed Orange Support and So on and i still can not call my Orange VOIP Number (Yes Ive checked the number to see if it's right many times)
I can call out fine, and there's no problem there.
Just wen I call from a BT Landline or Mobile I get the message "The Service can not be connected" and have had this for a few days now.
Any ideas?
I am sorry I am no help but just want to point out I am having exactly the same problem and the only answer Orange keep sugesting is to change the telephone/Live Box adaptor. So far I have had Three of these and they all only work one way.
I have the same problem. When I spoke to Orange they said the techies are aware of the issue and are working on it but couldn't give a time frame when it would be fixed
Can't see why they send out a replacement adaptor, expecting this to fix this type of problem.
The adaptor only uses 2 wires (two gold contacts on the end that plugs into the livebox). Both connections are required for the phone to do anything at all. If one of these connections fails the phone will be dead (incoming or outgoing makes no difference).
Some people are experiencing problems in that their phone does not work either way (me included) but it does work OK if the livebox is swithed off (through a BT connection). Again not down to a faulty adaptor. Still they send em out!
If you phone your mobile up from your livebox phone, does the number displayed on your mobile match the number they gave you? If not try ringing this displayed number back!
I can't get it to receive calls either although I can call out on it OK. I spent a while on the phone to Tech Support and spoke to somebody in (I think) India. It took me about 10 minutes to get him to understand what the problem actually was and then he just sent out another phone adapter, which doesn't work either.
I've tried plugging another phone in but the result was the same.
I don't get to voicemail. If I call it from a landline I get "the service cannot be connected" and if I try from my mobile I just get a continuous beeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
I am currently waiting for a new adatper to be sent to me, but also do not hold out a lot of hope of this fixing the problem.
Anyway, can someone, with a fully working system, (if there is one) please tell me what happens if your livebox is switched off. Does a call to your VoIP number revert straight to voicemail or does it become out of service? and if the live box is switched on but the phone is disconnected, what then, does the call revert to voicemail after the designated time ie 30 secs or something else?
If someone would be kind enough to try for us and post results, that would be great. It should help me diagnose the fault and give us some ammo when contacting Orange.
If you don't answer a call to the voip line, either because the livebox is off, phone not plugged it, it's simply not working correctly, etc then it's supposed to divert to your voicemail.

Right, so if there is no voicemail, just a dead line, then it can't be the fault of the user equipment ie livebox / phone / adapter etc. If someone could just prove this 100%, then I'd have something I can throw back at Orange.

Exactl my problem too.
Tried different phone/calling number from mobile and still nothing
The problem is still ongoing nearly a month now, has anyone yet been able to get an answer from Orange.
I too have had this problem since 23/11/2006 can ring out but not in.
Have tried 3 different phones rung my mobile to check the number etc etc.
Have tried ringing Orange uk call center admit the fault and say it will be ok in a couple of days ( that was 23/11 ) India call center do not understand you and kept me on the phone for over an hour.
Only to be told to ring back in 5 days must think i'm stupid ( but then must be to stay on the phone for an hour ).
Customer Care e-mail no longer reply ( starting to think they have blocked my e-mail address ).

I've explained the problem to them that I cannot call my number (as said i've checked through everything) and theyve said they'll send me another adapter?
I really doubt this is going to help at all.
