OK for 5 days now I have had no broadband access through Orange. The livebox simply has the @ flashing repeatedly. I've now called Orange 3 times, been through the entire 'factory reset' on every occassion, disconnecting all the wires and been told that they will carry out yet another line test. Each time it comes back as no fault found.
I have also tested the line with my old speedtouch modem - again no ADSL is found, so there obviously IS a line fault. So when will they refer the fault to BT??
There won't be a fault with your line.
Orange just lie to customers, including myself.
I was given all that line fault bull but when I moved to Idnet there was no problem whatsover with the line and been fine since.
DO not believe a word Orange tell you they just lie and rob.
Get out and move to an ISP that care and provide like IDnet.

How fast is it flashing - if slow you just need to log on.
If fast - which is what I had the other day at a friends - the fault was an unfiltered telephone. Once removed perfect connection.
I think you need to get a grip Keith. A flashing @ sign is more likely to means Orange are giving you the run-around and ripping you off. I agree with cosmicdance. Get a new ISP

solid @ = stable connection
slow flashing @ = Sync but issue connecting to server (90% of the time u/n and pw)
fast flashing @ = no sync means you cant get Broadband either your made the mistake and put the RJ11 into the phone cable port, you aint got it filtered, you have an issue on the line (hence the line tests which i put through on a day to day basis and arent fake) or you have no service
I've been fighting with there tech support team for over a month now. Each time you phone you get the same response (check the filters etc.), however the it was connected correctly and filtered.
They supposedly did 2 line tests - stated there was a fault, but then for some strange reason the fault report was closed. Each time you phone you get 24/48/72 hours it will be fixed, but no joy. You then phone back and your back to square one again [Sir, do you have your filters fitted correctly etc].
My recommendation is abadon all hope and cancel your account like I did (which also may I add is not an easy task) ... They tried to change me £200 cancellation fee, however if you talk to a supervisor and just stay on the phone long enough they cave and don't charge you it.
I personally use Tiscali for home and business and have had no problems (the Orange Broadband was for my parents as it seems like a good offer with the Livebox Wireless router).
