I've used firefox for more than year now and won't be tempted back to ie
Have you tried Firefox 2?
It's current at RC3 so it is stable enough for day to day use and the final release is imminent. It has many features Internet Explorer 7 doesn't have (not to mention security issues).

Hi i agree i also used firefox now for a long time i find it much better more secure more features and most of all faster than IE, however there is need to use IE for some sites, i will stick with Firefox when IE7 is finally released and as it will be distributed via Microsoft update very soon i will replace it with IE6 and use it as i do now.
As for Orange not supporting it yet suprise suprise LOL

It is still "beta" software though (Or is it RC now, not sure what point it's upto). It seems pretty good but few big companies will support potentially incomplete software which is still being tested. I'm sure Orange will support it when it's fully released, hopefully straight away.
...and before anyone points out yeah looks like IE7 has been fully released. I wasn't feeling well yesterday so I didn't catch that it was released until now.
No idea when Orange will support it though it's similar so I certainly would check the standard things when needed rather than just go with the "we don't support it" option.

Just rang them again. They are insistant that they do not support IE7 despite months of warning. It can only be the toolbar, which I have uninstalled.
IE7 is now being offered as an automatic update and will install anyway if your machine is set this way. Orange don't seem to care one little jot about this. The person would not say anything except "we do not support IE7" umpteen times. Obviously been well briefed. I felt I was talking to a robot.

The last person i spoke to before i left didn't know what a router was and that i wouldn't be able to connect without a livebox i didn't have the energy to even tell him in 4 years i have never ever used any of their equipment, i don't really blame them as they only know what they are trained "sack the trainers" lol.
But i can believe they dont support IE7 as they have only just started rolling out ADSL Max 6 months after every other ISP.

I've just installed IE7, and it seems to run fine. I had to reselect 'never dial a connection', though, because otherwise my connection keeps disconnecting itself and I can't reconnect manually. (which was happening before I upgraded to 7)
