If the code started LLU then it means you're on Orange's network. I don't believe Sky accept those types of code so you'd have to cancel completely.
The outage tying in sounds about right for you being on an LLU line.
Your not far off the mark, it begins LLMR and then numbers. Do you think that could be the case?
If so and I do need to cancel first I take it I'll be without internet for approx 20 days before the change over is completed.
If yours hasn't got 17-19 characters, for example quite a few less, then I'd say then it definitely is an LLU code.
Thats exactly how mine is made up, LLMR then 7 numbers and 6 digits.
Having just phoned 'Sky' armed with more info and getting an operative with some training, the final outcome is I don't need the MAC.
I was told that normally they accept the code and you go on with your present supplier for about one week before making the seemless switch over. Being with 'Orange' I must first cancel my BB service, contact BT to clear the line - approx 10 days - before contacting 'Sky' again, when they will send out my router and switch on my service.
So it looks like 2 weeks without BB access .... is it worth the hastle,
18MG/sec, free connection, free router, unlimited allowance all for £10 ??
