After ages of the talk problem (kept loosing voip line) upon finding the solution I joined here and posted the solution, within hours my connection went down (PPP server down).
surely a coincidence ... Hmmmm do Orange monitor peoples logs for sites such as this.
anyhow next day phoned Orange and a foreign bloke did a line test (within two mins he said results back and there was a line fault, I thought a line test took days), anyhow he said that my problem was elevated to something or other (struggled to understand the guy) and would be on line in 48 hrs (Ipointed out that I know people have been left for weeks and the guy laughed and assured mr no more than 48hrs), Three days later phoned back, "oh no your fault will take at least 3 more days to be checked out" ... GRRRRRR then the line "you'll be back on line very soon". oh how wrong.
after another week I phoned again and was told the engineers were on the case and would fix it but no-one can say for how long I would be without internet, so after another week phoned again and got the same garbage, as well as people reading out from the livebox manual about how to reset the box and many offers of more line tests, apparently they have no official complaints dept and connot give me a contact number for head office, surely this breaches many regulations.
anyway week 4 phoned up and was told the problem is nearly sorted and would be back on by friday, they even let me speak to a supervisor (after a lot of demanding) who said I would get some sort of a refund but was very vague and probably just trying to get me off the line.
one week later phoned yet again and guess what the old it will be on by friday line, when I pointed out I was told it would be on by last friday I just got an embarrased silence and a few errmmm ummms.
wrote to Orange customer care (lack of) two weeks ago with my contact details and they didn't bother to contact me, luckily for me the local community center is just accross the road and I can log on to the net through thier open wireless connection, but that is not the point, on top of that the useless lump of a livebox has completely died during a thunder storm (even though its connected through a surge protector and nothing else on that socket were affected.) so waiting a replacement power supply fron Orange (they won't send a replacement box until I try a new Ps).
to be honest I am not expecting my line to be sorted out anytime soon I think Orange are just a bunch of incompetent morons who just want to con people into extending their mobile contracts to get the "free useless and walk" service.
as for blaming wannadoo for having cr*p equipment, laughable, Ive been connecting since my freeserve account was activated for years with no problems, freeserve then wannadoo were superb just Orange could not run a buffet in a sandwich bar.
The supervisor you spoke to probbly sounded vague because they weren't a supervisor..!!I have heard rumers that all they do when they put you on hold whilst they supposedly get a supervisor is ask the person next to them to pretend to be one, so really your not getting anywhere.
