I wouldn't expect there to be much difference in the manuals from then until now, only a few firmware parts. Most of the changes you can work out as it's mainly cosmetic and if you're not sure just look around the different pages.

I can understand that but apart from basic setup there's not a great deal they can help with for that. Plus a slightly different livebox, that'd confuse a bunch of them. Orange uk and france have different systems so no checking accounts, lines or anything like that.

I know it's the done thing nowadays to "knock" large companies but Orange/Wanadoo here in France are pretty good. The swap from Dial-up took 24hrs after registration and the package is a "reasonable" price. As long as you don't install the complete software, a bit like AOL gets everywhere and a bugger to remove, there's no problem.
