I only just moved to Orange from ukonline just over couple of months. i moved because ukonline customer service is very poor.
the reason for the move is to get 8mb upgraded from 2mb, i have used BT checker and dslzoneuk.net and they both say i can get 8mb.
After the successful move to Orange i still only get 2mb, so i phoned them asking is it possible to upgrade to 8mb, and i told them that BT checker says i can get up to 8mb etc, they answered :orange has not upgraded in my excahnge or something. But that was 2 months ago.
Now i feel bothered to try nagging Orange to help get up to 8mb. In my "Your account" in the Orange website, there is an option saying "change your broadband package or speed "
i clicked on it and it comes up this:

its been like this since i got Orange, so do you think they have not updated the info on my account or are they upgrading my 2mb to 8mb. Also i have not received any email regarding about upgrade.
Sounds like you're probably on 2 meg and joined just before the change over to ADSL Max started. If that message has been there for over ten days then it's probably some system glitch. Get in touch with them and it should be arranged to be sorted out.
Do you remember what the Orange checker said you could get speedwise? Also if you check samknows.com does it mention any availability for Orange/wanadoo LLU in your area?

i just phoned them about upgrading to 8mb and they said that my adsl max is capable of 5mb, so i thought its at least faster than my current one so i did not bother telling him its capabe of 8mb. anway he was about to transfer me to the cutomer services to have my upgrade to 5mb on adsl max with 20 pound charge but soon after he thn told me that they are not allowed to any upgrades and that i should phone back in the next few weeks.
also i told him about the system glitch but he din't fix that or maybe he forgot since he was trying to get me 5mb
edit: just phoned him about the sys glitch and he said it will be by next week
