I posted my first problems with Orange re direct debits in july2006 and still havent got it sorted out. agreed to pay direct debit on 8th every month problems arose because Orange were taking money before the 8th and as i get paid monthly i couldnt change date and kept geting overdrawn[v badly paid or i spend too much] finally discussed it with Orange and they wouldnt pay my overdrawn fees but gave me 2months free supposedly saving me £35.98 that was in august/sept and now octobers due and yet again they have tried to take money on the 4th oct when there's none to take and yet again i am overdrawn to the tune of £28 AGAIN . phone them to ask why there are doing this [again more cost] and they inform over the phone that june/july direct debit never went thru either, where's the money gone, I havent had a letter from bank stating this or anything from Orange UNTIL I PHONE. account was de-activated for 1 day in which i couldnt get onto accounts section to read my statements and after phoneing [1 day] my account is now totally different and states i owe 3 months money HOW CAN THEY DO THIS. I only checked my statement on thursday 5th and it stated payment would be taken in 10days [l months.]I have decied to leave and pay l month which is due on contract and go somewhere else. anyone with any good advice.
If they've taken you're money by direct debit then the fact is you've paid them and don't owe them back money.
I would contact Citizens Advice Bureau as they are very good with legal things like this.
The thing to remember with Orange is they are nothing more than a lying, robbin, non-caring disgrace.
When you are free of these cowboys I can recommend Idnet as a fantastic ISP.
I have been with them since leaving Orange 4 months ago and their 100% fast, reliable connection with free customer support from knowledgable staff who really care is just superb.

Sounds like you need to sort out your finances. Bottom line is don't sign up for something that you cannot afford to pay for.

Hi hpsaucy
Sounds like another instance of Orange incompetence if you have told them and arranged the date each month why are they taking it out before that date? it just shows you how one sided their contracts are im glad im away from this tin pot company.
Good luck in getting it sorted.

You need to know when your bill date is. If it's the 8th of every month then it's impossible to take it earlier as there isn't a bill payment to take - unless it's the previous month's.
Whatever your bill date is, the direct debit payment is taken sometime over the following 10days.
