Never had any trouble up to 3 months ago when I sort of discovered, that emails I were sending out weren't always reaching their destination and also emails that were being sent to me were sometimes being returned as undeliverable without a reason being given.
I got in touch with Orange who said there were no server problems, even though the issue seemed to be with my server working intermittently. Anyhow they have over 4 million email queries a day and can't deal with individual problems. Anybody else see the irony in that statement?
During the last week it's gone mad, and really is the luck of the draw as to what I receive or send.
Has anybody else had this problem? Is there a thread on the boards somewhere that is already discussing it?
It's absolutely driving me nuts.
I'm bumping this back up, because although the problem did initially seem to get better, I know seem to be worse off than ever.
I know, for sure, that I am sending emails that are never arriving, but I don't get them returned.
I also know that people are sending them to me and, they are either getting undeliverable or they are in the same position and just think they are sent and therefore received...not the case.
What on earth is going on? Where are all these emails going?
Is the Orange system covered under 'Services must be fit for their purpose?'
This is happening to me too, Dolly, and I too have an old Freeserve email address...
I'm afraid I don't have any help to suggest, but just wanted to offer my sympathies. I tend to use on or another of my other email accounts nowadays ie. Yahoo or Google, but I still don't think my messages get through a lot of the time because I'm on an Orange connection and the stuff is sent via that connection when I use Thunderbird.
I hate Orange, and as soon as my year is up, I shall go elsewhere.

Emails sent out from Orange not getting delivered could be due to Orange's outgoing mail relays getting blacklisted due to spam coming out of Orange's network.
See this thread.

Hi Dolly
I'm afraid that this is becoming a real problem with all networks because of the huge proliferation of junk mail. What with IP's anti-spam defences and people running all sorts of spam filtering on their own account it's amazing that anything actually gets through at all.
Have exactly this problem. My email address has been hijacked back last November. I started to get 1000s of undelivered messages. I spoke many many times to Orange about the problem and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I requested that they changed my Email address on the account but they told me this was not possible. I created another email account which I started to use and created as many filters/blocks on the old address as was possible and the problem seemed to die down. The truth was that it was just hiding the fact that the address was still being used by someone spamming. I have now got a problem that due to Many many complaints that Spam Cop and Google have received relating to the Hijacked Email address that they have blacklisted the IP address that Orange have on their server for by Broadband connection (Thats Orange's IP address not mine). This means that any email I send to people who are using Spamcop or Google data bases in their Spam filtering, are rejected.
Orange maintain that they cannot change the IP address they hold on their server for my account. I suggested that they close my account and start me a new one but they say it would mean me being without a service for 20 odd days at least.
I was quite interested in taking the Mobile offer of Free unlimited Broadband, All land line calls free (Via broadband line), and mega free calls and texts on the mobile for £40 a month but I now find that all they do is changed the direct debit and retain the existing Broadband account. Thus the problem of blacklisting still exists. I also understand that the talk packaga cannot have a redirect set to send calls to the mobile.
Anyone know different or does anyone know a way to stop the blacklisting?
Regards
