After months of appaling service (I'll spare you the details it's a long story-just months of intermittent connection) I've cancelled my Orange broadband service. I cancelled rather than just getting a MAC code for two reasons: 1) Being LLU lots of ISP's wont accept the MAC. 2) I was getting no service anyway so didn't see the point in carrying on paying for it!!

I'm new to this site so hope I haven't missed an obvious section, but was wondering if anyone can suggest a decent ISP that doesn't tie me into a 12 month contract? I've seen that Virgin don't tie people to a 12 month deal but had bad dealings with them years ago so don't really want to go back! I'm moving into my girlfriends house in Jan or Feb and she is using NTL, hence the need for no contract. Thanks in advance Smile

From the many posts here, the consensus is that IDNET is the best, and they offer 1 month contracts. Tech support is also good.

If i was you ide do some research before you commit to a new provider my advice would be is to avoid the big ones ( Talk Talk, Sky, Tiscali, BT, Pipex ) customer and tech support is appalling (btw Virgin charge you a fee when you want to migrate away) heres some links if you want to check them out ADSLGuide UK there you will find all the ISP's have their own forums and DSL Zoneuk where you will find ratings and reviews of them all from customers and the different packages on offer are in abundance its very informative.
There are several there with 1 month contracts like NewNet IDNet Zen some with 3 months Xifos, Freeola, UKFSN and the like it will take some time looking but its worth it.

Good Luck in making the right choice

Cheers for the advice chaps, and I'll check those links out Steve. Absolutely nothing can be worse than the past six months with Wanadoo/orange. Would be nice to deal with people who know what they are talking about!!
