When my work phone contract with Orange was cancelled at work and I was using wanadoo at home Orange advertised the 'free' broadband with an 18 month contract so I stupidly signed on.
When they finally sent the Livebox (I was using my own wireless router) it worked for a week and then stopped on the 12/13 August.
Since then I have spent countless hours on the phone to Orange support. After 5+ weeks of no connection I tried to cancel both my phone contract and broadband. Turns out that broadband isn't part of the contract and it is going to cost me £439 to cancel or I am stuck with no broadband and Three phones (personal, work and Orange).
Has anyone else managed to cancel their phone contract based on the 'free' broadband not working?
Just been off the phone with them. My VOIP phone which is included has not been working despite weeks of calls to them.
I told them I want to cancel my mobile and broadband (Free) and they said that I would still need to pay for the mobile phone plan because the broadband was free.
I also share the view that because they "sold" me the mobile phone contract on the fact that it included broadband free, now that they cannot give me the full service package , I have the right to cancel. But how do I go about pursuing this? Has anyone successfully done this?
