Hello there,
I changed my BT landline to EE in December (I had Orange Broadband on a BT line before) and since them my internet has been almost unusable.
I've spent many, many infuriating hours talking to their 'technical team' who have fobbed me off with a different excuse every time I phone. Their latest trick has been to say they've found a fault on the line that they believe comes from somewhere in my house. A BT Engineer came over today and did some pretty extensive tests - the line was perfect.
I then phoned back technical support only be told there was a fault on the line and they could send a BT engineer out in a few weeks, explaining that the BT engineer had left 5 mins before didn't help. Today's guy even hung up on me when I told him that he was fobbing me off and they need to remedy the problem!
They push you through an endless cycle of nonsense and lies it seems without addressing the issue. I can't afford to buy myself out of a new contract, and rely on the internet for work (I work from home) Any help or advice would be deeply appreciated as I'm now loosing work over their inability to provide a working service.
These are my modem stats:ADSL Firmware Version 3.4.4.0.0.1
Modem Status Connected
DownStream Connection Speed 288 Kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 1135 Kbps
VPI 0
VCI 38
Hi Borednow,
Many thanks for the reply. Sadly I've been through a number of factory resets with the 'tech support', it doesn't change the speed or stats, plus when I connect my older Orange router I get the same speed / stats.
I'm going to try and get out of my contract as they are in breech of theirs I think and find a provider who provides! However I've only had the EE line for a few months
