Has anyone else found this to be useless? It fails to connect to the internet, When it's plugged in the Globe light flashes slowly indicating it can't connect. I called the help line, went through the laborious checks until their representative decided there was something wrong with my phone line. I know the phone line is ok, my Belkin router and my old speedtouch work fine, I explained this and after consulting with presumably a manager, Orange agreed to send another Bright Box. This is exactly the same - useless. What's wrong with the technology of this box?
I won't bother with the helpline again - they don't have a clue.
I have been with Orange since the freeserve days, I upgraded to anytime landline calls with broadband, that's why I got this new box. I'll be going to BT probably - at the end of my contract.
Searching other forums, I found somebody else with similar problems.
The solution for him was :

One thing I had an issue with, was getting my PC to connect to the 'net, once I had put all the details in. The *router* was definitely connected to ADSL, as it had a WAN IP address. The solution was to turn off the router, reboot the PC, then turn ON the router as the PC reboots.
The problem I have with the brightbox is that the Nearly There EE loadingup page has now permanently taken over the default page of google.co.uk even though the latter shows up in the address bar.
Originally it just got stuck so I had to enter my details manually (I bought the item independently rather than Orange/EE sending it), it now connects to internet perfectly ok but as I say the default shows as the loading up page for some reason, even though I have turned the router on and off since.
Suppose I could uninstall and then install the browsers in question but is there a simpler way to solve it as will mean resetting all the defaults again....
