I have ADSL Max (only available at my exchange BT or Orange)
Quite good line quality IPProfile 6MB
livebox sync up to 8MB.
However, never ever got more than 379kbps upload, even off peak.
Been with Orange for years and never really thought much off it but recently using Vodafone SureSignal and with VOIP could use better upload.
Also ping rubbish so does not work very well.
What upload speeds do people generally get.
I wondered if livebox not working properly or perhaps something at the exchange.
about 3 years old & actually apart from speed has been relaible service.
Of course Orange CS is like banging head against the wall, asked the same question 10 times & always answer something completely different.
For the record also like everyone else peak speeds drop from 6mb to around 1mb 4.30 - midnight.
What is scary is I thought would move to BT but my std line test says 2mb.
BT say they can only guarantee that despite me having over 5mb for the last 4 years or more. They use to say 2mb but more if the line is good enough. Not any more. It seems the good old UK & BT are screwing the unforunates.
Those on ADSL2+ or 21CN get faster & faster and cheaper & cheaper whilst those on lesser exchanges get slower.
What make me laugh is BT say its to make it more reliable, guaranteed 2mbw with only minor slowdown at peak. Clearly if you have an IPProfile @ 6mb for the last year or more the line is reliable and they are either throttling or the exchange is overloaded, either which they should sort out.
rant over, I know many people are suffering worse than me.
