Having had terrible service (both internet and customer!) from Orange over a number of issues inthe last 9 weeks, I have finally decided to bite the bullet, pay to leave my contract early and move to a better ISP provider.
I rang Orange to get my MAC code but was told that no MAC code could be provided as my line has been unbundled. I was never told that the unbundling would have any impact on my switchability! Therefore my only action is to close my account with Orange immediately, then allow 10 days for them to deactivate my line and then a further 10 days for my new provide to reactivate the line. As a heavy user, I can't be without my broadband for 3 weeks.
Therefore I am forced to stay with Orange. This surely can't be allowed???!!! I though LLU was supposed to be a good thing for consumers!
After having endless problems with Orange including no broadband connection for over 4 weeks, I decided to change ISP. I phoned Orange and insisted on getting my LLU MAC code which they emailed to me within 24 hours. I then called IDNet, gave them my MAC and was connected to their service 4 days later.
I have had no problems with IDNet and highly recommend them! They have no 12 month contract to sign and cost £24.99 a month.
I have not had broadband for over 26 days and been phoning everyday but getting noweher. I still have 5 montsh left on my contract for the 12 months and Orange want a cancelation fee and 5 months of fees paying to release my line.
Could I cancel my BT phone line. Have a new line installed by BT (keeping the same phone number) and then move over to the 16MB per month Sky package at £10 a month unlimited download cap?
Would this at least give me broadband back and I would argue the outstanding fees to Oraneg in court.
