I am new to this board I wondered if anyone could advise me.
I’ll start at the beginning. I too have not been able to access my Orange Broadband Account since around the 18th August. As soon as I saw the flashing ADSL light I knew I was in trouble. I had a problem last year with my Broadband account when it was run by Wanadoo and I used to dread ringing their technical help so much so that I had to psyche myself up every time I rang them.
Anyway I decided if it was Orange things might have improved. How wrong I was. I rang up once and they told me to reconnect to my BT main socket (when they weren;t trying to fob me off!) That I did to no avail, I then rang to close my account as I couldn’t stand anymore messing bout. Anyway they persuaded me to get a wireless box and that someone would ring me back until the problem was sorted. Which they didn’t!
I was then told they would escalate to BT to see if there was a problem on the line and I was told to ring back in 4 hours, I rang back in 12 hours and they told me I should have been told to ring back in 48 hours. That was this Sunday. I then rang on Monday afternoon while I was at work to be told to ring them in another 2 hours when I was home so that they could run through some basics, even after I had told them I had already done this five times. I said I have rung for the results of the BT check but they just said they hadn’t had any results back.
At this I saw red and rang to cancel my account. They did try to persuade me to stay with them by offering me a refund of my Broadband payment this month. I refused.
They said the would be in touch about picking the Live Box up and I sent them a letter yesterday confirming my cancellation and cancelled my Direct Debit.
To get to my point I just wondered how many people have had this problem with Orange and then as soon as they have gone to a new ISP their Internet has worked straightaway? I think I’m going to go with BT, but I don’t want to get tied into a 12 motnh contract and still not be able to connect to the internet.
Are Orange just lying to people about the state of their service? Its just that everytime you ring them its like you are the only person to ever have a problem and it must be something I’m doing wrong. After finding this website its reassuring to know that maybe I’m not as stupid as Orange make you out to be!
Sorry my post is so long but I am so refrustrated it almost feels good to get it all out!

I left Orange and yes my Internet worked straight away at double the speeds , since last december when my exchange in london was LLUed Wanadoo/Orange blamed my equipment they wasn't interested as i use a netgear router ( not one problem before december) they tried getting me to use a livebox but i wasnt going near one i found a good ISP who accepted LLU MACs and left and good riddance.
Regards
Steve

dont waste any more time with Orange ts & cs, they will just keep lieing to you.
change your isp now and freeeeeeeee your self from Orange hell ther are plenty of other isp's out there.
Hi
Thanks for your replies. I haven't heard back from Orange about collecting the Livebox or when my line will be cleared but it does feel like a heavy weight has been lifted. I don;t usually get mad when talking on the phone but Orange Technical staff know how to push all the right buttons!
I can;t wait until I can get another ISP and be free from the not so bright Orange!
