Has anyone had any leeway on this matter?? Or has anyone managed to get out of a contract due using the "unfit for purpose" clause? I only interested as I dont want to be tied into this account for 18 months!! please, please help!
Know how you feel m8 been goin through the same Sh#t for the last 8 months, got 10 months left 2 run. . All Orange seem 2 do is fob you of with is "its this its that" im on 8meg package & done BT speedtester 2nite and im gettin under 1mg. I have done absolutely everything 2 rectify my lag 2 the point i even went out and even bought a new computer, have had new filters, new leads, new router, new phone sockets. Every thing they said was causing their diabolical service i have renewed! So i wouldnt listen to much to what they say if they say the problems at ur end! Talkin to the Orange chap on the phone a couple of nights ago and he said if they couldnt provide the service they are paid to supply then i would be entitled to cancel my existing contract (fingers crossed). So i now have to keep track of what speeds are coming through, they will not accept sppeedtest.net figures and only the BT checker. Hope you manage to sort yours out, im goin in the Orange shop later on this week to start trying to cancel my contract as on the phones a waste of time as they either hang up on you or say theyll get back to you and dont bother!
Sorry to hear that fella! This has been the worst decision I've made. If only I'd of known sooner! the unlimited not unlimited, the ping rates awful and I've spent the last 3 days trying to get out of a contract I've only have 6 days! But as the cooling off period doesnt include actually using the product, its really difficult to get out of it!
I cant believe the state of the broadband providers this country is offering. Surely, if the service is inadequate I am in my legal rights to return it!??? People arent given the right information and especially gamers who require good ping rates!
Let me know how you do with getting out of it. All I know is that from now on I'll never being using another Orange product ever again! Support.... what bloody support!
Orange seems fine if you want to game in the morning when ur at work -lol you can easily see why they are rated bottom along with Talk Talk as a provider. Apparantley Zen or something like that are supposed to be the best provider around here, this came from the manager of Carphone Warehouse, but he said dont say i told u that as we dont deal with them but me and all the staff are with them and there excellent lol. Recently they fool me into thinking im gonna have a good night, switch call of duty on and the 1st 2 games are always full green bars and the game flows awesome and then what do you know straight down to red bar connection, its almost as if they sense that your on the xbox and want to f#@k with you! The amazing thing is that everytime we phone to complain, instantly everything is restored and you have a day or so with no problems! I suppose if you werent gaming you probably wouldnt notice to much the bad service they give out Anyway off to the newly fitted Orange shop tomorrow to have a rant and try to cancel my 10 months remaining as this was what the chap on the phone said would be possible if they couldnt supply near the 8mb package im on and as recently its been below 1mg with ping sometimes as high as 700 shouldnt think theyve got a leg to stand on. Citizens advice 1st me thinks! Its ggo that Which are running campaigns against unscrupulous internet providers now, so this might hopefully make a few firms rethink. Still at the end of the day ill have the last laugh as i run my own business so that 9 phone contracts they wont be renewing in a couple of months lol
Yay - finally got out of Orange Broadband contract - had 10 months left 2 run, so they cancelled that out and wavered the £50 disconnection fee. And believe it or not they actually sent my MAC code through straight away. Gotta be the best service ive actually ever recieved from Orange! No more Orange people hanging up on me or not bothering 2 phone me back - Happy Days, and after all the bull***t of its your phone socket its your cables, its your filter, its your computer, its your area blah blah blah. Funny how i dont actually have any problems now and i havent changed any of the above only the provider ? lol. My advice to any1 out there fighting to get out of a contract with Orange would be this - Do not deal with any1 on the phone and actually deal direct with the staff in your local Orange shop, State that your connection is unfit for the use that you purchased it for and keep constant records of BT Speedtester figures and so long as these are a lot lower than what your spose to be getting you shouldnt have an issue with cancelling - Good luck 2 all you long time sufferers out there and good ridance to this provider as far as im concerned!
