HI.
Anyone know what these stats from my live box mean?
and what speed a should be getting.?
I was getting 4.2MBS and was quite happy with that, but since july when doing a speed check all i get is readings of 0.87MBS, this has only increased to the 4.2 once in all that time and lasted for only 1 week.
Router is plugged into master socket with iPlate fitted, and all filters new and fitted to all extensions.
I am on ADSL2+, was on ADSL2 and had no poblems, but since being and ADSL2+ it's never been the same.
Can this be changed back?, or am i stuck with this. I did contact BT who said that my line was not capable of receiving ADSL2+ yet and would not be upgraded until November!!!!.
I have also complained numerous times to Orange about my problem, but all i get is "we will look into the problem and give you a call back".
Any help in understanding the stats below would be great.
ADSL firmware version : A2pBT009c1.d17d
Connection mode : ADSL2+
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 15.0
Attenuation (dB) : 51.5
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 1758
ADSL status : Connected [0]
Thanks for that,
I have complained numerous times, but i am just getting nowhere.
i did ask to be downgraded to ADSL2 but have heard nothing back as yet.
Have contacted the exec team via e-mail and was getting some reply's but now they are just passed on to the customer service in Dehli, and all i get is "we are dealing with you request, and we will call you back with an update"
but when i get an update they say the fault is now closed, "WHY close a fault when it has not been fixed.
Would it be wise to contact Ofcom?
I have done everything they have asked of me at this end, but don't seem to be doing anything where the fault seems to be.
Thanks again.
I have connected my Livebox and phone to the test socket and the change in attainable download rate has changed from 1099 to 4176, see below.
i am posting these withing ten minutes of doing this, so i will see what happens in a few days.
Problem was the bell wire causing interference on the line and a broken extension in the bedroom which i did not notice until i removed the face plate and found out that the socket inside was broken, so this would not have helped. anyway i will let you know what happens.
i would still like to be back on ADSL2 but am having not luck in getting Orange to change me back, lines in my area won't be upgraded to ADSL2+ until the end of November this year, hopefully this will make a change.!!!

Could it be that there is a fault within the exchange or the outside line from the exchange to my house?
still not change in the stats from the LiveBox.!!

On ADSL2+ LLU, the higher the SNRM the slower the sync speed will be.
If you have an NTE5 main BT socket, it has a horizontally split faceplate the lower half unscrews, carefully remove the lower half and plug the filter and router into the test socket inside. Then check to stats again and post back.
Here are the stats when connected to the test socket
No real change: Could this be a fault with the outside line??
Helpdesk ringing me back tomorrow, would like them to get the line outside tested but seems hard work to get them to do anything.
i just can't understand how i could get almost 4.5mbs for almost 3 years and when changed to the 20MBS package i now only get 1MBS sometimes less.
I have tried BT but they say i can't even get broadband on my line??????
And Talk Talk say only 0.5 to 1MBS at most???
Has to be a exchange fault or somewhere on the outside line.
any help would be great.
