Hi, firstly, what a great site! If only there was something similar in France where the standard reply to a broadband/Livebox question is for the France Telecom 'tecchies' to just put the phone down on you! Secondly, apologies if the answer to this question has already been posted, I did a quick search but did not find it ...
Is there a way to change the encapsulation on a UK Livebox (Inventel)? I can list it out via the web interface but can't seem to find any way to change it (in France we run LLC 8/35). I've had to buy a Livebox as FT flatly REFUSE to come and look at my connection which drops every 60-90 seconds as I'm running a Netgear router (Quote: If you don't rent our livebox we won't support you" - DOH!) - it's a line problem (as it's the same with 3 Netgear routers and a Sagem DSL modem, but until I get a Livebox on the line they won't even come out!).
Sorry for rambling and thanks on advance for any help
It's been mentioned before about a page that seems to have the setting you want but nobody was sure if it actually did what it was supposed to. Just open the config and change the address to include "adsl.html" and you should get the hidden page with the settings. No guarantee that it will do what you want though as they may have disabled it in the UK firmware.

Hi, thats a great tip, but I would really like to do this with the Livebox 2, so I can change the settings
2.14 ATM VP / VC: 8 / 35 SHOULD BE 0/38
2.15 ADSL Mode: G992_5_A SHOULD BE ADSL2+
2.16 Encapsulation: LLC SHOULD BE VC-MUX
to use the Livebox 2 in the UK... (there may be other settings which I am unaware of at this point...)
