I have broadband (in the loosest possible sense of the wrod) supplied by Orange. I cannot stay connected for more than a minute frequently. I do not effectively have broadband. This is worse than dial up. I cannot send email or view web pages apart from about 6 in the morning as the connection keeps vanishing. I am paying for wireless broadband, also that doesn't work but have given up on that one. There is no problem with my line, the problem is that Orange is rubbish. I have spoken to BT about transferring my account and have been advised to get the MAC code - as far as I am concerned Orange are under contract to supply me, the customer, a broadband service and they have failed to do this therefore the contract is null and void.
In order to do this on top of all the premium rate calls I have already made to try and get my broadband working I am now expected to phone another number at a cost of 50p a minute - I have to do this in order to cancel. There appears to be no email address for customer complaints on the web site - odd don't you think for a company providing an internet service???? Its like not being able to buy meat from a butcher or vegetables from a greengrocers.
They also want to charge me 2 months to move to another provider - have I missed something here???? I have paid through the nose for the past few months for a non existant service.......and though it doesn't work I have to pay to move?????? It is their fault it doesn't work!!!
I am the customer here, something they seem to forget. I will be in touch with Trading Standards also Watchdog - in fact anyone I can persuade to listen to me. It is the equivelant of buying a faulty item and then being charged to give it back - I am not asking for a refund just to get rid of them and move to a supplier that can supply what I am paying for.
I hope everyone who views this site does the same and kicks up as much fuss as possible - we are meant to be the customers here, Orange is the provider. Something has gone a bit wrong really, we are the providers - ie we send Orange money every month for nothing in return.
They are the worst company I have ever had to deal with and I'm just glad I have cancelled so I don't have to spend another penny on a non-existant service. The fact is no-one at Orange gives a s**t, to them you're just another annoying customer.
If you want peace of mind and a reliable service then I and many others would advice to spend your money elsewhere.
