First of all, I had to create a new account as I could not log in with my previous details, so I have been here before despite this appearing like my first post.
Anyway, basically, I have two .fsnet.co.uk e-mail accounts.
Apart from the occasional problem which has been shared by others - as per previous discussions I have had on here, neither have cause any real trouble for many years.
However, one account is behaving normally, whereas the other is causing me problems.
I use the accounts on a daily basis via Apple Mail on my MAC and once a day I go to the accounts via webmail to clear out the spam - my friends have been quite careless with my e-mail address and I get 300+ per day sometimes!
As I mentioned, one account is working perfectly but the other will not allow me to delete any of the junk mail, either by deleting them individually or by emptying the folder. I get the following error message:

Well, the message is misleading because I was not sending mail via webmail - and I rarely, if ever, do.
I waited a few days to see if this was a server overload problem which might clear itself but it didn't. I then contacted Orange:
Quote:
Hi,
I have two e-mail accounts which I have been using fairly faultlessly
for many years.
One is still working fine.
However, as of a couple of days ago, when I am using the webmail
facility of the other and try to empty the online Junk folder or delete
spam messages from it, I get the following message:
'Your message has not been sent for one of the following reasons:
The service may be temporarily unavailable, so please try again later.

As I am not even trying to send mail, this message seems to be a bit
erroneous.
Please advise.
Kind regards,
and received the following reply:

Thanks for your email.
I'm sorry to learn that you've been having problems with your Orange
email account.
The issue you refer to has now been resolved and you should now be able
to login to your account. I can only apologise for any inconvenience
this may have caused you.
As the Three email domain name servers (Wanadoo, Freeserve and
Orangehome) all direct to the same email server, you may use any of the
Three server settings with your email client.
If you've any further queries please don't hesitate to contact us again.
Kind Regards
Jason
This reply evidently illustrates that they did not take any notice of the question I had raised, so I responded thus:
Quote:
Hi,
The problem was not about being unable to log into my account.
I just logged into my account and I still cannot delete messages from my spam folder.
Kind regards,
Since when I have had no response.
I'm getting quite concerned because a previous e-mail account I used with Orange started to bounce e-mail when the Junk Mail Folder reached my account limit. This could be a month or so away, at the rate my Junk mail folder is filling up.
Update, if anybody is interested, I had the same response again from the Orange automaton/computer.
Incidentally, I discovered that the search facility does not work. It cannot even find a word in the header when it's staring me in the face.
Anyway, as nobody seems to have any idea and Orange have some kind of computerised gatekeeper keeping me from getting any kind of support, it looks like my e-mail account will eventually implode.
