3 weeks ago I contacted Wanadoo by telephone to inform them I was moving house, ( I have had a livebox system for 6 months ) they took all my new house details and when I was moving etc and said there would be a charge of £25 for swapping over and it would take up to 20 days.
Today is the 15th which is 20 days on,I have been in my new house for a week with my Livebox connected but with no Broadband coming through.
Therefore I rang Wanadoo explaining the above story, to my great suprise I am told my account has been cancelled as my new house telephone number will not accept Broadband.
I was taken aback with this news and complained strongly that I had not been informed by email or any other means that this was happening,I was also suprised to find I could not accept Broadband.
The guy then tells me that I rang them on the 7th April when I was informed of the above news, I assured him I did not ring them as otherwise why would I be ringing now.
We went round and round in circles with him telling me there was nothing he could do and my account was closed,so I gave up.
Using a Dial up service I thent went on the net to the Wanadoo website and put in my telephone number to sign up for Broadband as a new customer,it was accepted for 1 meg Broadband ???
I also checked at the Tesco Broadband site and was accepted and also on the BT website.
Please can anyone advise please at what I can do, ?
As I am very dissapointed at this service and as they have cancelled my account, how do I stand about just going elsewhere for Broadband ,what do I do about the Livebox equipment I have and the remainding 6 months minnimum contract I have with them.
I am reluctant to ring Wanadoo again as they do not seem to help or understand your problems.
as long as it was they who canceled the account and they are not expecting you to pay for the remaining 6 months you should be abe to ask them for a MAC code and then move to a new isp
I believe wanadoo are now loaning liveboxes (I got mine when you had to pay and own it outright). They should provide you with a box and prepaid thingy for sending it back.
Hi
Thanks for the reply, I have cancelled my Direct Debit to them as it was due today and as by their admission my account is now closed, I think all I can do is sit tight and wait, if they want their Live Box back they will contact me ???
Before using Wanadoo LiveBox I was on NTL cable in this house and everything is still in place to take it,I think they would be my best bet for Broadband again and leave the telephone system alone.
