I have been an Orange BB customer for approx 4 years on their £5 with Orange mobile broadband package.
I've been living at this address for 20 months now and was very happy with my 8mb connection as I was getting 7.5mb and making good use of it.
However, the problems have started since I upgraded my phone and BB to 20mb in May.
This last week I have seen my connection drop down to 4096kbps, so I spoke to Orange CS asking what was going on and they said they would run some tests.
Today it's halved again. I spoke to Orange CS a few days ago and they said they would do some line tests, Here are my router stats as per today
HEC Errors: 0 0
Total Cells: 46196 20099
Data Cells: 28967 12604
Bit Errors: 0 0
Personally, I think I may have been capped as I do download more than 40gb a month, but I have not downloaded anymore than what I was doing before I upgraded. I think the new 20mb connection is con, as they can now enforce stricter throttling under a new contract.
If I have breached their fair use policy, then why don't they tell me that? Lying and cover ups don't sit pretty with me at all. If I've breached the policy fair enough, don't mess me around with all kinds of BS as that will just make me want to leave moreso.
OK your router is capable of syncing at around 7000 - 7500kbps if all the other parameters are 100%.............but :-
1. The SNRM is way too high at 24dB
2. The Output Power is way too low at 8.4dBm
This looks like a line or an exchange problem but it may be wise to plug the router into the test socket if your main BT socket has a split unscrewable faceplate, take this off and you'll see the test socket inside.
Also make absolutely sure that every telephonic device is on a filter including any Sky box because Sky engineers tend to "forget" to tell you or "forget" to replace the filter.
