I'm fuming. Orange charged me for 6 months before they actually connected the internet, now i get the most temperamental connection.
Router is a Gigaset se572.
If anyone knows what on earth i need to do to fix this awful ping, please, please let me know. Dealing with Orange for 7 months now has proved to be nothing more than a infuriating, mind numbing chore.
As for router stats, im not sure if this is the information you want, but its all i can find in my router settings.

I've just tried those 2 sites & they are both far worse by a factor of 3x than those I use regularly. For example Milton Keynes returns 31ms but Gloucester 111ms.
Try Milton Keynes, Maidenhead or even Paris.
Not all speedtest sites give decent results as you'll see.
Cheers very much for the replies! Though "your router should be syncing nearer to 16000kbps" means very little to me
Your router connects to the exchange equipment at certain speeds depending on line length. This is called the connection speed or synchronisation speed.
If your package is described as up to 8Mb then your router will synchronise or connect, depending on the distance from the exchange, at anything up to approx. 8188kbps.
If your package is described as up to 20Mb then you router will synchronise or connect at anything up to 21000kbps approx.
The throughput or download speed is approx. 83% of the synchronisation speed. So if your router syncs at 8188kbps expect around 6800kbps from speed test sites.
