I've been on the receiving end many times where "you've sent be a a wrong MAC code!" and then you have to explain the difference between the different types of code. I'm sure many people on here do know the difference but a lot of customers don't know the ins and outs of the ADSL industry, or really care.
Anyway hopefully Ofcom will organise a system which works for everything so everyone ends up happy.

Wether you been on the recieving end or not i or many others dont care as its our money NOT yours being taken under false pretences if ur prepared to lie for this dire company then shame on you aint our problem what is our problem is we expect a service we paid for which a majority are not getting if your issued with a MAC code wether it IPStresm or LLU u expect it to be valid not a dud one or so called CS to help you not hang up on you which i also had no matter how u try to defend this awful company people are paying money for a service they are not recieving its a total disgrace and most people here know that end of story. stop making LLU MACs an excuse because it isnt one obviously u dont read the internet mags or papers. After the way i was treated and many others by this excuse of a ISP i will not sit back and watch others treated the same people aint as stupid as u think especially me . read the posts here about dud LLU MACs for crying out loud.

Fine let me clarify things a litte. If someone calls and asks for a MAC code when on LLU I'm supposed to say they're not provided anymore. Thats not to say they can't be generated, or that if you complain you won't get one, I have no idea how that would be dealt with. I don't generate them or have the ability to do so I go by what comes down from management. Whether it's a good or bad decision staff have to stick to them.
I agree that there shouldn't be dud MAC codes given out and I've not been talking about those as I don't know much about that topic. It's not like I can really help with that and I try to stick to techie stuff.
No, people aren't stupid, and simply not knowing a process that many will never have gone through before doesn't make them so.
Contrary to what you may think I'm not trying to defend them, simply trying to provide a possible insight into why they chose that course of action. Anyway I'll leave this topic now, I really don't want to get into any sort of flame war over a decision they made that I don't even personally agree with.

Now let me clarify things
Fair enuff then stop telling people Orange no longer provide LLU MACs when you know they do its unethical these people go into these contracts with trust not to be taken advantage of by the likes of Orange staff that isnt personal to you im going by your posts you are very helpfull with some wihch is appreciated but telling lies on behalf of Orange isnt. Im sure people on this forum will come to their own conclusions end of story.

Orange did give me an LLU MAC, but it was a dud. It wasn't linked to the line. The new ISP had had this problem quite a lot from Orange. Had to cancel the line aand wait for the marker to be removed. Orange could't organise a ... in a brewery. How hard can it be?
