I got a new box sent out the other day and same problems as before(x4), a little bit of investigation through my frustration & using a wired connection to the Livebox messes up the Livebox connection to the exchange and affects speed !
Master reset Livebox, disconnet everything, wait 5 mins & plug it all in again but NOT to a computer via ethernet, add your sign on details to the Livebox admin pages. Connect to Internet. Reboot. My speed issues was sorted, that simple, yes that bloody simple Orange !! Your using a piece of s**t of a Livebox or firmware.
Has the UK Livebox firmware flawed from the very start of issuing 10 years ago when Wanadoo boxes & 2MBPS was the norm at BT exchanges, and has this part of the firmware been touched since Wanadoo ?
My new Livebox has the France Telecom logo on it aswell as Orange, old stock France Telecom have binned to other Orange divisions since it brought out the Livebox 2 in Oct 2009 for new customers, why is it only UK customers who complain MASSIVELY of Livebox/speed problems ? FIRMWARE ? I think so.....how hard can it be to get a frog to translate to English on the French firmware without rebuilding parts YOU Orange UK think you have too.
I have now confirmed with another Orange customer in my city on BT Wholesale/Orange the above WORKS for them.
Check out the results on the link below, guess what is wired and what is wireless connections.
Hi - I have mostly used the wired connection to my liveboxes. The first one the charger blew and I got a mini livebox replacement sent no problem. Both have worked well with wired and wireless setups; PC, Hero HTC phone, pc laptop, appletop, ipod touch. The minibox needs UDP disabling to work properly with windows 7 and a wired connection - see other posts.
Also, I found that fitting a BT I-Plate boosted my connection speed from c.2MB to 6MB. Not bad for a few quid!
