I was already having big problems mailing from my fsnet email account to
my fiancee in Canada , as her ISP had blocked Orange for spamming. !!
Now i find my emails dont arrive in hotmail accounts either.
So i have had enough now, i have been a customer since 1998 but can stand it no longer, my business suffers because of this onging unsolved issue, and so now are my nerves.
TalkTalk are urging me to join them and at last i dont think i will need much persuading.
It just isnt good enough.
Glad I'm not the only one, there are probably thousands of customers with this problem but unless you check that 100% of e-mails arrive then you'll never know about it!
Orange tell me they've never heard of this problem before!!!!
Anyway, please report the issue to Consumer Direct on: 08454 040506.
If enough people call then Trading Standards will take it seriously and make sure that it gets fixed. If people don't call then they won't. It only takes about 5 minutes.
The problem lies with spamcop and its filters, why ? because Orange are one of the worst spammers in the world, this has been going on for years and they have never sorted it out permanently. My fiancees isp videotron got so sick of their customers receiving 100's of spam in their inboxes that they blocked all oranges ip addresses. Same applies with hotmail. Now unless you keep disconnecting and reconnecting hoping youll get an ip address that isnt on spamcops list you are bug*ered !!
Until they sort it out theyll just lose more customers.

Thanks for the quick reply.
It seems that all e-mails that I send to yahoo get through just fine. Around 50% of e-mails to hotmail don't ever arrive. I presume this is a sign that certain places (ie hotmail etc) use a certain system where yahoo don't.
Either way, have just set up Googlemail who provide an SMTP server you can use on Orange as it's not on port 25. Seems to be working quite well so far but early days. Let me know if you'd want any help setting up the same.
Yeah some steps to set it up would be good thank you. though my business email address would need to change wouldnt it ?
Hi,
I'll write something tomorrow as I have no time left tonight.
Your e-mail can stay the same, I too needed a solution where I wouldn't have to change e-mail address. That must be a complete nightmare updating everything!!
Basically you'll end up with the incoming server in Windows Live Mail or whatever program you use being the same as it is at the moment.
The outgoing server will change from the Orange/wanadoo whatever one to: smtp.gmail.com. You're effectively just using a different company to send your e-mails, it doesn't matter that it's not the same company that provides the actual e-mail address. Mine for example is Tesco, which I have been using Orange for the last few years to send but now I'm using Google.
Ok thank you, look forward to reading it.
tonight my Outlook Express wouldnt send or recieve, kept asking for password, god only knows what Orange are up to now !!!
i've had this problem and also my mum in scotland when the emails i send from incredimail don't arrive in the hotmail box,i did test emails to my other accounts like yahoo and they arrive, sent emails to my own account and they don't get there, this is so annoying,i have contacted Orange and they say they deal with so many million emails everyday sometimes they are slow..........well i'd say a month is very slow lmfao,c'mon Orange help us.
ps i have asked for my MAC code as i've had enough although i've been with them for 10 years !! they don't care

It's pretty simple what you've got to do really. Basically set up a googlemail account, go into the settings on that account and set it up to be able to send as your current e-mail address (settings, accounts and import, send mail from another address). You should then be able to enter your current e-mail address details and enter a code that it'll send you which will allow you to then send via the googlemail smtp server as that e-mail address.
Googlemail's help pages explain it pretty well and it guides you through it well. Feel free to ask any questions if you get stuck though.
