Anyone else getting this problem? Orange webmail has been ok all day but since about an hour ago it's just showing me a page saying error 404 sorry page not found when I do my usual log-in from the Orange homepage. Have tried the other email links from the homepage but the same thing happens......

Uh huh ... Me too. Two broadband accounts, two locations, a total of £40+ a month in bills, for I don't know how many years and starting to get very fed up with the level of service received. This must be the third time on six months i've
been unable to access my emails and must be a signal for change ...
Just registered on this forum to pitch in that I too have been trying all afternoon to log into my (erstwhile-Freeserve, ex-Wanadoo) Orange email/webmail account but it's failing.
From the "Email & Communicate" page an attempted login returns the 404 Not Found error-message.
Trying to log into the account from the 'https://membercentre.orange.co.uk' pages repeatedly returns the following red error message :
"We didn't recognise your email address or password. Please try again."
I've sent two separate types of communication to Orange but there's been no response and as at now---8:30 pm 22nd June 2010---no change in the situation : email/account remains inaccessible and there's no word from this telecoms farce.
I started with Freeserve roughly '97/98, and certainly never chose Orange, nor Wanadoo before them. It was "done to" us. I've duly signed in every month or two for years, and occasionally as necessary doing the account "retrieval" reactivation thing.
Even today tried going to the web-pages I'd bookmarked last time, for that very purpose of seeing if a retrieval would fix things ...
... it perhaps bodes badly that no such pages or procedures are still there, and I can't find any mention either..!!!
The deep worrying fear is that they've finally gone and simply "purged" us despite the contracts which were supposedly in place. They care not one bit about the inconvenience and losses suffered.
They have utter contempt for 'us-the-little-people.'
With the cumulative effect of months and years of hard social evidence being shoved into our lives, culminating today in same ole same ole 'Westminster' and the budget showing how these predaTory corporate-capitalist elites simply "DO THINGS TO US" while they and their chums walk off unaccountable and untouchable to self-indulge in their ill-gotten anti-social fortunes.. well, with all this hard evidence, does anyone else feel that "Direct Action" is long overdue in society, finally time to "Do Things TO THEM" for a change, eh..?
Would class-action lawsuits honestly be an effective route..?

My two O r a n g e email acounts now reporting the same problem you have when accessing via webmail, but so far still able to access using POP3 /Outlook Express.
One account started saying 404 yesterday, whilst the other OK but v-e-r-y s-l-o-w - as has been for some time, as I raised earlier in my thread "O r a n g e webmail like treacle ..." 17-Jun-2010. The latter was still OK this morning, but reporting 404 this evening.
Have also found that several links on O r a n g e website, particularly those dealing with Help topics, are at best out-dated and redirected, or are just plain broken and a dead end.
Having exactly the same problem here to. I did the reactivate account thing but no use although it did log me in so my account is still active, I just can't access email. 404 error.
I sent them a message through their online support. I hope it'll fix itself before they get around to replying.
Thank heavens I don't use them for internet. Maybe I'll export all my email when/if I get the account back.
Agreed R.N. We need some sort of guarantees against these continued breakdowns in service.
I have a Freeserve address and an Fsnet address, both of these ate giving the 404 error and don't download to Outlook or Live.
My Fsmail account is still working - but I have no way to access my main emails on the other accounts. Since one of these addresses is used for business I'm scr3wed (Please excuse my language).
I expect any threat to with-hold payment would be pointless, because I think the email accounts are a free 'perk'. Although from where I am it gives nothing but grief.
Well it let me in once earlier - all emails still there - but having tried again a second ago it's the same message back again - error 404.
God it's so annoying - this seems to happen about once a month with a day of email address and password not recognised etc etc.
Am still able to check emails with email pickup external site (can't remember site name - I just google email pickup) but obviously that doesn't have any of my folders/contacts so can only use to check my account's still there and see new emails.
yep,had this problem for 2 days now, orange said they had a problem with one of there servers !!

I have been having this problem since mid afternoon yesterday and still cannot access my emails this morning. On numerous occasions in the past the page that comes up is unusable as the sections fo managing the account are unavailable. Loading the pages takes an age and this is not due to my connection speed, other sites are no problem. To charge for such an unreliable service is a travesty.
The 404 problem seems to have gone away, for both my email identities, when I collected recent emails this morning
1) - but for how long?
2) - why does it happen?
I still have the treacle problem, though, also unresolved.
