i am on the basic Orange package wich gives me free broadbaand.
I've been searching everywhere but cannot find out whether the router is G, G+, N or N+. May someone tell me what it is?
The router is Siemens SE572.
Also, here are some stats from the router page. Can someone tell me whether these are typical for a person with my package or amazing or absolutely oathetic as i've been experienceing some mega low download speeds.takes me 2 hours to download a 250MB video from megaupload! With Sky i could do that within 15-20 mins or less.
ADSL Line
Status: Cable connected
Line mode: G.992.5 (ADSL2+)
Maximum line rate: 8061 kbps (downstream) / 604 kbps (upstream)
Noise margin: 26 dB (downstream) / 25 dB (upstream)
Line attenuation: 25 dB (downstream) / 11 dB (upstream)
Output power: 22 dBm (downstream) / 12 dBm (upstream)
Just as a comparison, i'm on the 10 meg fibre optic package with Virgin Media, I did a retest on the Birmingam server & I got a ping of 15ms & a lower up speed.
My speed is restricted slightly because i'm connected via a 100mb ethernet cable.
