The BT engineer visited today and basically told me I'd have to wait until the fault becomes constant they wouldn't be able to track it down and didn't know if I'd be charged for the visit as he is contracted out and doesn't work for them direct.
I did promise to stay away until I had something to report but since you ask!
Still no progress from Orange on speed problem - sync speed still 7.5 Mb with noise margin 26db and line attenuation 21db.
DLM doesn't appear to be active on my connection as speed has never varied since going to Home Select.
My speed has been stable above 4Mb now at 4576kbps for the past 2+ weeks.
The connection re-syncs nearly every day during the week between 10am and 12pm. It always syncs above 4Mb and close to the attainable rate reported by my router. Interleaving is still on but the depth recently reduced from 64bit to 32bit. Upload speed has also increased to 832kbps.
It's been pretty good since speaking to the exec. office. I'm sorry that some of you are not having the same luck.
@borednow ye the DLM is working great on my line it was at 12 for a while and is now
Maximum line rate: 17806 kbps (downstream) / 1196 kbps (upstream)
Noise margin: 10 dB (downstream) / 5 dB (upstream)
Line attenuation: 13 dB (downstream) / 5 dB (upstream)
Output power: 20 dBm (downstream) / 12 dBm (upstream)

That's excellent. It does seem that once the DLM establishes a good connection it stays there. Mine's constant around 14.5meg and I'm powering off each night. BoardBandKing has found the same.
It's a shame that 0range don't have a 6dB noise margin profile like most other ISPs. That would push you towards 20meg & me to 16+.
I switch my router on each morning and I get 12 meg speeds.
Sometimes, getting less frequent, the DLM will force my speed down to 8-9meg at some point during the day, but a reboot gets it back up to 12 meg.
So still not quite 100% as I would prefer the DLM to keep my speed at 12 meg but it is a lot better than it had been.

For the last 2 days I've been running with a tweaked SRNM of 5-6dB. This has upped my speed from 14.5meg to 17meg.
So far the DLM has done nothing!
I'm going to leave the router on for a full week & if nothing changes I'll install modded firmware that'll hold that SRNM setting through reboots/power offs.

I'll keep you informed.
Very nice indeed .
Netgear have stated that there is an updated official firmware for my dgn3500, however there is no unofficial SNRM tweak firmware yet!

Would it not be worth considering a DG834/GT with tweaked firmware for the internet connection and the DGN3500 as a gigabit hub? I'm using my DGN2000 for the internet connection & a gigabit switch/hub for my local network.

Well a week further on and running with DGTs firmware in my DGN2000 and still getting syncs of 16.9/1.3 with an SRNM of 5.x . So far whether the router is left on or powered off nightly the DLM doesn't seem to care.
When I signed up to 0range I was estimated at 10meg so getting 14.5meg unmodified & 16.9meg modified is absolutely brilliant.
Apart from the first 5 weeks of issues the actual BB service has been very good , I think it's only dropped out once & that was for only about 1 hour.
