i've had no connection this morning. phoned as usual and demanded the truth instead of the usual bull***t, and apparently we have a major outage. what in the world is going on? i'm back on my o2 (now Sky) dongle.
same with me! this time there was no bad weather as well. Some thing must be seriously wrong with the maintainance. when i called i was told it would be back with in 24 hours. and same stuff again! goddddddddddddd!
This is the 4th time we've had an outage since December, it's just not good enough. If it weren't for the phoneline which is part of our package, and is a vital advertised contact number, we'd wash our hands of Orange once and for all. Needless to say we are also missing important phonecalls.
Just got a call from the Orange technical support team. the advisor just basically told that there is an ongoing issue with the network starting with 01463... areas and the problems would defintely be resolved with in 24 hours. i bet they would say same again tomorrow.
I work for Orange, so if you are still having problems I may be able to help.
If you can email your landline number/broadband account number and best contact number to customer.services@orange.co.uk, I'll give you a ring to discuss.
So I can pick up your mail quickly, please add 'Jonathan Orange Response' in the first line.
here we go again!! it came back on the next morning, which was good. went down for a coupla hours on thurs and here we are saturday night and no internet!! i'm not even wasting my money phoning this time. i've been with this lot since they were freeserve, probably about 15 years, and i've never known it as bad as this. the aggravation of the daily calls to people who don't understand me and whom i find incomprehensible only adds to the injury. i've tied myself up for 18mths but i'm looking at a way round that - fair means or foul!
cheers pat
I think Pat that since it is Orange who are breaking the contract by not providing the service we pay for, we are quite entitled to look elsewhere. I am just disgusted with this, I don't know what else I can say..... words fail me
I understand that Orange broadband was down for customers served by the Inverness & Forres exchanges for some time on Wednesday. My connection went at 8.30pm Saturday (whilst I was downloading a file) Spoke to tech support. On checking up, they said that a routine outage was scheduled for those served by the Forres exchange. Downtime would be around 4-5 hours. Just back home again, connection is working again 11.15pm. This is what puzzles me why are only the Inverness-Machdui and Forres exchanges affected simultaneously and none of their neighbouring exchanges?
goodness knows, we must have some very faulty Orange equipment up here! one phone call in the long outage resulted in the news that BT wouldn't let them in to the building to mend their fibre optics! it went down a coupla times yesterday, but came back on. i signed up for 18mths just before xmas, mainly for the free phone line, and have been told i'm liable for the full 18 mths unless they have an ongoing outage of 30 days. this hasn't happened - yet!
perphaps i should also cancel my direct debit and ask for my MAC code. they can't even supply the internet uninterrupted atleast for one week? disguisting is the wrong word to use. they would just use the term 'OUTAGE' AS IF IT IS A VERY GOOD QUALITY INDICATOR. SHAME ON Orange
Outage? OUTRAGE describes it better! What the hell are they playing at, they're saying that adverse weather conditions in Inverness are the cause of the latest fiasco. Adverse sunshine?

My broadband was down from 24 feb-5 March 2010 (9 full days)
Then it was down on 27 March.
Now it is down again since I tried it at 1pm today April 5.
I don't even bother phoning them any more.
I just come here to confirm its the usual "Kinmylies problem".
I would get the MAC code but I want to keep my old Freeserve email address I have with them at least a while longer...awaiting business replies there.
I see an Orange employee left a post here asking people to contact him for some reason...did anyone try that? Any good come of it?
