Mind you it looks like Orange are not doing anymore manual profiles based on feedback on here. I was told that it would be a solution that would be applied to people on slow speeds while Orange get the DLM sorted out!
still stuck on a poxy one meg profile! the 'office' are looking into it so i'll give them a chance before passing judgment.
still have an obscene NM of 34 down and 36 up and router stats shows no dropped connections since last Friday when i decided to stop troubleshooting and see if it took care of itself. 5 days of solid sync. attainable rate shows 6meg. and still no profile increase.

If you're stuck on the lowest profile there's no harm in rebooting the router or just unplugging the ADSL cable & forcing a re-sync. I'd do the latter.
Exactly the position I was in for weeks!!!
Demand a manual profile, it will be the only way you will get up to what you should be, otherwise you will be relying on the DLM, which is being rewritten!
Quick update. and hopefully this will resolve anyone else's issues IF THEY ARE ON THE 'up to 8 meg' PACKAGE...
... for starters, orange exec office have been superb. The issue with my line has nothing to do with DLM! DLM is NOT ACTIVE on the up to 8 meg package. that package has set profiles 1, 2, 4 or 8. when Orange's eqiupment went into the exchange i reported poor speed. they then did what they do in cases like this and reduce the speed to the 1 meg profile. DLM would NEVER have increased my line as DLM is NOT ON THE UP TO 8 MEG PACKAGE!!!!
so.
tonight they are moving me onto the 4 meg profile as they can see my stats have improved since BT fixed my line.
I did question why noone picked up on this in the first place at escalations and just told me that DLM is not actually active on my line and im on a set profile that would never move until it was manually resolved. My contact didnt really have have an answer on that, and to be fair, i didnt expect them to as the only department who have been any good at resolving this is the exec office. i guess the other departments are there to fob people off in the hope they just accept the problem.
i know the exec office read this thread as i was told they did. and that what they did for you BBK is a definite ONE OFF!!!!!!!!
fingers crossed by tonight my new profile of 4 meg will be installed with me being lucky that DLM does not come anywhere near my line, or profile as it is not on the up to 8 meg package.
should have been obvious really and i should have been told that right at the beginning but there we go!
I bet you are pleased dabel. Only thing is we all assumed you were on the up to 20 meg as you posted in the forum dealing with problems on this package.
However glad you got it sorted and please report back when your speed has increased.
As for everyone else who have the DLM on their line, any news?
I have asked for my SNRM to be lowered for upload and download but nothing has happened yet.
I guess towards the end of next week is when the new DLM is released, any news on that would be welcome, so if you speak to anyone at Orange, try and find out.
my first post, or possibly second, did state that i was on the 8 meg package. but hey, i guess we're not all Orange broadband experts and neither should we be. i guessed, obviously incorrectly, that DLM was active on all lines that were LLU. it seemed that i was in the same boat as everyone else with being stuck on the 1 meg package (especially when my speed issue started the day Orange's equipment went in). which i guess i was after they capped my speed - only difference being my line would never have done a thing to bring the speed up automatically. why Orange didnt point that out in the beginning i dont know.all those calls to india, and escalations and noone pointed this obvious glaring issue out to me.
no update for me im still on a 1 meg profile ive asked for a manual profile to be set several times but no one semes to know how to do that. the service i am getting is not bad its always the same person that calls me (at least i dont have to call them anymore) and always when he says he will but there are just never nothing to tell me and never any speed increase they have another 1-2 weeks to sort it or im off im just getting fed up with it now ite been over a month on a 1meg profile
same for me still stuck at 1 meg, getting help and phone calls from exec office, during last week, left router on as requested been on now for 6 days, told will call me again monday, and see if any increase.
if no DLM on 8 meg would i be better off going back to that as i was on 4meg whilst on 8meg. since upgrade to 20meg last xmas never got more than 1 meg.
Never used to have to leave router always on on 8 meg
