Hello all. I've been using the livebox pretty sucessfully with two PC's connected to the red and yellow network ports. However, I'm finding that occasionally the yellow port will stop working, but the red one continues to work. If I switch the two cables, then the other PC will work on the red port, so it's definately a port issue.
Interestingly, when I have this problem, if I try and reach the livebox homepage on the red port (using 192.168.1.1) it just hangs. If I reboot the router it all comes back to live, both ports and all, but I'd rather it didn't happen in the first place!
Anyone got any ideas why this may be? Thaks for any help that anyone can give!
The service was trialled and then dropped. Suppose it could come back as they have the backend services there to support it.
I think the main problems they probably had was that most people who want a greater TV choice already have either cable or Sky. Also all they were supplying was Freeview with on demand content, just like BT vision and any use of on demand does limit the available bandwidth for internet use. The only difference was what films, shows and premium content they'd be able to get which would probably just be the same old same old as all the other on demand services.
The reason it worked so well in france is because they didn't have same level of supply as cable/Sky already has in the UK. Get in at the beginning and it's easy to get a good market share, trying to join a market is a lot harder especially when the closest rival, BT vision, has a superior setup. (from what I could tell, service and hardware wise)
