I am now going to put my new router on for this afternoon, do some speed tests and see if the DLM is still on my line.
On Friday the DLM took me down to 10 meg download, 0.8 meg upload on my DGN3500 and then I had to connect my 585v6 and reboot it a few times to get back to 12 meg.
Fingers crossed my DGN3500 can keep it at 12 meg download, 1 meg upload.
Could do with the DLM increasing my upload speed from 945 to 1024.
It did this with the speedtouch router on Friday from around 960ish to 1024 so it could be just a matter of waiting a while for the DLM to increase the upload speed.
Positive so far, fingers crossed my new router maintains these speeds!
thanks BBK. i think its the exec office i need to get in touch with otherwise nothing will happen.
when you were stuck on the one meg profile did they ever tell you what your maximum stable rate was? the reason i kept being told was that my max stable rate as per their analysis (and before BT fixed the phone) was 1.8. because of this showing as 1.8 they are refusing to manually increase my profile. i want them to restart the 10 day training process which in effect resets my MSR and have it re-evaluate.
i think the MSR, once set, remains at that rate no matter what happens to your line after the 10 day training period. i cant see that it can ever change after then as my stats below show i am capable of much more than 1.8 with stability. routerstats shows only 1 drop in sync since being on 1 meg, and at that point it went from g.dmt and interleaving, to adsl2 and fast.
why isnt DLM doing its job on my line and moving me up. My NM is huge!

That's what I thought ... from changing package I've had, in order ...
12mbps for 2 days
8 mbps for 30 days
4 mbps for 2 days
2 mbps for 4 days
and now
1 mbps for 13 days.

Orange installed new DLM on 20/01/10 to all exchages and as BBK and myself have been told by different people at Orange (when you can get one to admit it) "They didn't know it was going to cause problems" "they have been caught on the hop by it" etc etc. At the moment I wouldn't be suprised by anything DLM did myself.
I work as a Unix Analyst, part of the team I work in's job is to release code to the company. If we ever release any code that causes problems for our company trading it is either fixed with a live code change there within minutes/hours or it is backed-out totally until it has been fixed and re-tested. Someone at Orange has told BBK that the "fix" is 2 weeks away. Well if thats the case they should have backed out the release until then. It shows that they have very poor Testing and Change Control systems in place, in other words very unprofessional in the IT world.
thanks mcfontaine... from what BBK said the new release is to stop DLM downgrading so easily. chances of a fix that moves profiles up along with that??
i'd like to re-enter the 10 day training period. i cant see that anything else will change the MSR. what chance of that have i got when an escalations team manager said i can stay on the 1 meg profile or leave, and then hung up.
the exec office route is my only hope.
p.s i've noticed your name on a few sites! glad to see your spreading the word regarding Orange

No probs mate.
I asked to have my 10 day resync restarted. Was told by 3 differnet people in the Fault Management Team, over 7 days that it had been restarted, only to find out that the request had been entered but the resync hadn't actually been started. The Exec Office is a route, but it depends who you get. They will start with asking you to do loads of speedtests (again, no doubt). Take my advice and keep a log of all your speedtests, I now have 100 results over 18 days, I think they take that to be proof.
