I know someone who recently phoned Orange to cancel his broadband package in order to move to a cheaper supplier. They offered him an upgrade to broadband max at no extra charge - so he nows gets max at only £17.99

He is a pretty trustworthy person so I don't believe he is lying.

Seems a bit unfair to other customers in my opinion.

I rang Orange to request a MAC code yesterday and they offered me the same deal.Also free local and national calls through live box 24 hours a day.I didnt go for it but im thinking about it.

I got the same offer too. CS "upgraded" me from my non-working speedtouch, to a liebox with talk for the same price. Trouble was, it came with the same non-working ADSL line.....

me too - I ranf to tell them I wanted to cancel, they gave me £20, one month free and £17.99 for broadband max.

Of course it took them 2 months to pay the money into my account and stop charging me 27.99 but right now I'm on max for £17.99.

They still owe me a tenner in fact.

how do you all do it i rang up to ask for MAC code 3 days ago never offered me anything free. and i have been with them since they OPENED. I dont think they like me

I rang to complain about the connection problems I had been having and was put through to customer services I asked for the Duty Manager and told him the problems.

I also said that they were no longer as competitive as other ISP providers and was thinking of changing at that point he drop the price from £27.99 to £17.99 staying on the MAX service with unlimited downloads BONUS !!!

So ring and complain if you have had a hard time !!!!

I phoned for the MAC code and they upgraded me to Max, mind you, that was over a month ago and I still haven't got my talk service up and running, I phoned again to cancel as I did previously and they have now given me a free month and have said if I send in my phone bill and highlight the calls to 'support' they will reimburse me. Great..but I still haven;t got my talk service which I wanted. Any one else with the same problem?

I phoned today and they eventually put me on Max for no increase on my normal £17.99.

I am now unlimited with 8Mbps.

I had to persevere though.

Keep at them.

My advice to you all is simple - leave Orange ASAP.
They are an absolute joke when it comes to braodband, Freeserve and Wanadoo were both fine.

I lost my connection for 2 weeks and was given the usual excuses over the phone, line fault, ring back in 48 hours etc.
They simply do not care.

If you haven't had problems yet or you have and they've fixed it, still leave before they wreck it again.

I went to Idnet and they are 100% brilliant, fast, reliable connection with ENGLISH SPEAKING customer support who are both knowledgable and care.

YEAH I WORK ON TEQ AND A CST ASKED ME IF WE COULD PUT HER ON MAX AS BT OFFER SAME ONE FOR 17.99 INSTAED OF OUR PRICE 27.99 WELL IM NOT CUST SERVICE AND WHATSO EVA DEAL WITH PACKAGES BUT I RANG CARE AND THEY SAID FINE LET HER HAVE IT, ONCE U ON PACKAGE U CHOOSE THAT PACKAGE ALL ISPS WILL COMPETE AND ALSO AGENTS GET REWARDED FOR SAVING U WHEREAS I DONT EVEN THO SOMETIMES I SAVE ALOT OF PPL

I phoned over a month ago to request a MAC code and they offered me broadband max for £17.99. I said yes. I have got the livebox - sadly after a month my talk service is still not activated and they have no idea when it will be. I have rang on at least ten occasions to get this sorted to no avail.
