the lady on the phone mentioned the 30 days thingy, however she also said that they cant waive the cancellation fee after 30 days if I go ahead and request the MAC now.so I said even if I hold onto my MAC til the 8/2 and then use it?I dont know if she was just trying to stop me requesting it,or she was in fact telling the truth,,does anyone know?
thanks for the advice guys, its very much appreciated.
p.s, I also receievd a email from that exec email address saying they would be in touch in the next 24-48 hours.I really just want this sorting out,my mobile broadband was faster than Im getting at the moment lol.

And they probably will be BUT there doesn't seem to be much they can do about your speed in reality. Increases in speed are very much in the lap of the gods or so it would seem. I seem to have been lucky in mine being resolved after about 28days at 1meg. Others have not been so fortunate.
If you decide to stay & wait patiently you must ask for some free months in compensation. However if you decide enough is enough you'll probably find that the executive office will view your case sympathetically & waive the cancellation - I think they're probably a bit fed up with these problems all of which appear to be down to a very poor implementation of DLM.

And if they don't, the best personal contact is the Orange UK CEO whose email address is in this thread :-

blade what speed are you getting with a wired connection? as you said your router backs up your speed capasity. well the router will only show the speed it gets so if it shows 7 meg your router is getting 7 meg regradeless of the speed your computer is getting

Hi, I am going on what the line attenuation noise is,which is 41-44db. but the maximum download speed is 1021 according to the router.also I have tried wired and wireless.my wireless signal is a solid 50 mbps anyways.
anyhow,,,,,
so far I have no MAC, but,,After being on a stable 880kbps for the past 2 week there has been an improvement today.it is now running at 1700kbps.
could be the step up process that I have heard happen on here before?.
fingers crossed.

With your attenuation you should get anywhere between 4.5 and 7Mbps & it would appear that the DLM has finally kicked in & is upping your speed. I left my router on and also did a lot of downloading & mine jumped on a daily basis.
With luck yours will be at it's max by the end of the week.
