After getting a new laptop I started from scratch with my livebox, wirelessly connecting to it fine.
I am trying to get a wired connection for both my WD networked external hard drive and my PS3.
When I plug either of these into the first ethernet socket they work and are visible on the laptop through the 192.168.1.1 page, but whichever is plugged into the 2nd ethernet port does not show as connected.
Does this socket have to be activated or set up different to work?
I have also tried using a USB cable between hard drive & livebox and PS3 & livebox but this doesnt seem to work either
If you would like to contact me, I will be able to get someone to go through the set up with you.
If you can email your landline number/broadband account number and best contact number to customer.services@orange.co.uk, I'll give you a ring to discuss.
So I can pick up your mail quickly, please add 'Jonathan Orange Response' in the first line.
I too am trying to connect a Western digital my book world edition. I connect it with the supplied ethernet cable and find that when I try to install it, it cant be found. I have followed the WD instructions to the letter - so I'm now assuming the problem is with the livebox.

Any ideas appreciated
Have you tried disabling the Digital TV functionality in the livebox config pages?

Can anyone advise/help?
It should work with the livebox.
Have you tried both ports on the livebox? Does it show as connected in the livebox config pages?
After powering on the mybookworld and leaving for a few minutes, can you connect to it using the following address in a web browser: http://mybookworld/ or ip address if it can be obtained via the livebox config pages.
Can you ping mybookworld ?
Have you tried factory resetting the mybookworld?
Checked any software firewalls that may be blocking access to it?
