Hi Iam trying to connect my hp f4580 wireless printer and when i try to set it up on installation the error message i get is MAC filtering enabled on router and is preventing printer from connecting to wireless setup. It gives me the solution of adding the MAC address of the printer to the list of permitted devices. But on the settings on the router i cant see a disable MAC filtering option or any where to add a device. Can anyone help i`m going mad!!!
I don't use a Livebox but I found this on Google......worth a try ? :

Disabling MAC filtering:
Access Livebox (enter 192.168.1.1 in explorer address bar) User: admin, Password: admin (if not changed). Click on 'My Services', then 'internet access, then 'Wireless'. MAC filtering mode is at bottom of page. Do not forget to save changes.
Also this, which is different :-

1. Go into Livebox Configuration pages and ensure LivePrinter function is switched on.
2. Go to windows Control Panel and select Printers & Faxes.
3. Select Add New Printer and click on Next
4. At Welcome To The Add Printer Wizard click on Next
5. At the next screen ensure Local Printer Attached To This Computor is selected and that Automatically Detect And Install My Plug & Play Printer is not selected. Click on Next
6. At next screen select from pull down menu Standard TCP/IP Port. Click on Next
7. Enter 192.168.1.1 in the first box and click on Next
8. After a while screen will appear telling you Device Could Not Be Found. Select PRINT SERVER from pull down menu and click on Next.
9. At next screen click on Finish.
10. At next screen select your printer as if normally installing it. If you printer is on the list, which if you have the drivers already installed on your PC, it will be then select it and click on Next. Do not use the Have Disk or Windows Update options on this screen.
11. If all has gone to plan you should get a screen saying that drivers are aleady installed and do you want to use these or install from scratch. Select Use Default Drivers Already Installed and click Next.
12. You should now get screen asking if you want to print a test page. If all has gone ok and you select this you should get a Windows XP PRINTER TEST PAGE.
Hurray i`ve solved the problem and connected my printer and all other items in the house. Heres what i did first I unplugged all connection from the live box, then I threw it in the bin, then I connected a Netgear router and five minutes later everything is working fine I suppose this is how a proper router is supposed to work?
I think you should retrieve the livebox from the bin - it's only on loan from Orange and needs returning whenever you decide to either regrade to a package that doesn't include the livebox, or switch to another provider. If the Livebox isn't returned you may have to pay up to £100 for it.
