Hi there, I work for Orange and might be able to help.
Please send an email to customer.services@orange.co.uk, including your personal contact details and username from this site, and I will give you a call to discuss.
In order that your email is forwarded to me quickly, please add "Jonathan Orange Response" in the subject field and also in the first line of your mail.
you can count me in as well.
the last few weeks my 8mb connection has been appalling. I am lucky to get 1mb at peak times and even opening a webpage is a struggle at times.
ever since Orange mailed me to say they were doing upgrades at our local exchange its been far worse and whats more the price went up to.
Not happy at all.
Every night now since late oct its been sooo slowwww my 8MB connection feels like dial up, and if i am being throttled, then Orange can go whistle , if my money isnt good enough ill go elsewhere, i have had enough.
The price went up and the service went down.
Poutine's experience is the same as mine. Two weeks following the Orange letter saying they were doing stuff at my local exchange and my speed might improve, my line was re-profiled and I was given a higher noise margin from 6db to 12db which I didn't want or need which meant my download speed decreased. Not sure whether it resulted from my complaint, but it did get re-profiled again to 9db which is still higher than it needs to be. All this for an extra 25% increased monthly charge! I guess it's coincidence isn't it that my exchange has serious evening overload problems so throttling my max speed by increasing the noise margin controls the loading on the exchange. It's all a game
